Deputy General Manager Apex City of Bath Hotel, James Street West, Bath, Somerset, BA1 2DA

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Operations Manager at the Apex City of Bath Hotel, located on James Street West, we are the largest hotel in Bath boasting 178 bedrooms with a purpose built conference centre which can cater for up to 400 delegates.

The Role

As Operations Manager, you’ll be pivotal in ensuring the success of the hotel through the standards and service given, whilst maximising hotel profitability in line with budgets. You’ll be the initial “go-to” person for all aspects of day-to-day operational matters and challenges, maintaining and supporting the Apex culture, ethics and values through our every-day activity. You’ll also play a key role in assisting the general manager to ensure the smooth-running of the operation and to lead the Head of Department team.

In addition, you will have full accountability for ensuring health & safety compliance across all departments, ensuring budgets and forecasts are up-to-date across all areas and working with Human Resources across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.

The Person

The successful candidate will already be operating at senior-management level in a similar role and will have a proven track-record in leading and motivating Heads of Department. To be successful, you’ll be fully proficient across all aspects of Health & Safety and have a solid understanding of profit and loss analysis and Hotel KPIs. Proven experience of managing budgets and controlling costs across all Hotel departments (in particular Housekeeping and Food & Beverage) is essential for this role.

In addition, the role will involve a significant amount of administrational duties, which require excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Not only that, you’ll also have a proven ability to build effective customer relationships.
